<P>A preparatory course in IELTS or TOEFL only teaches you the exam skills but hardly anything about the language. To attain the score of IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 213 (CBT), a candidate should have at least upper-intermediate level of proficiency in English before s/he considers atttempting either of the tests.</P>
