<P ><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">Lonely is the life here, especially when you just entered university with half of residence in your hall being English. I try to make myself as busy as possible to remain cheerful. Everyone seems like the phantom of opera, who wears a mask in day time, and sometimes at night as well when meeting up people of importance. <p></p></FONT></FONT></P>
<P ><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">Exceptance is Hugo.<p></p></FONT></FONT></P>
<P ><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">He does whatever he thinks of at the moment. Many times he will pop into my room all of a sudden just to tell me that he has had an insight of what life really means. It is good to have such a friend though he sometimes tends to drive me crazy. Our bio-clock seems to be at the same wavelength, so we often get up late in the morning and rush to school complaining about the long distance we have to walk. While at night, when we can’t go to sleep we will go out for a walk of twice the distance from our hall to school. <p></p></FONT></FONT></P>
<P ><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">Walking on Oxford Street at night can be quite scary when the neon lights have shut down and all the ugliness of a dead city seem to expose themselves aggressively. We seldom talk but merely enjoy the warmth of companionship. Count the number of noisy pubs we have walked past, as well as that of the homeless sleeping by pizza shops. If it happens to be a homeless child, Hugo will drop a generous 10 pounds on the blanket, which I find very extravagant. He’ll then say, “ 10 pounds buys only a cup of cosmopolitan in Café de Paris but can save this child from hunger for 3 days.”<p></p></FONT></FONT></P>
<P ><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">Maybe this is London, heaven for only self-centred rich habitants. But I have Hugo, so I wouldn’t feel alone.<p></p></FONT></FONT></P>
